Bhutan is divided into three main regions open to visitors, each offering its own unique charm and distinct landscape. The country’s prominent north–south mountain ranges create clear differences between these areas in terms of geography, climate, and culture. The Bhutan Tour (5 Days) has become increasingly popular among both local and international travelers who wish to experience the diversity of these regions in a short time.

Western Bhutan includes the towns of Paro (7,200 ft), Thimphu (7,500 ft), and Punakha and Wangdue Phodrang (4,200 ft). This region is celebrated for its breathtaking scenery—lush rice terraces cascading down mountain slopes, pristine rivers winding through valleys, and elegant two-story Bhutanese houses adorned with beautifully painted wooden windows.

Central Bhutan, separated from the west by the Black Mountains, encompasses Trongsa and the broad, fertile valleys of Bumthang, which include Chhume, Choskhor, Tang, and Ura. Known for its buckwheat fields, sturdy stone homes, and numerous monasteries, Central Bhutan offers ideal conditions for hiking and cultural exploration. The legendary beauty of the Bumthang Valley makes it one of the country’s most captivating destinations.

Eastern Bhutan features the regions of Mongar, Trashigang, and Trashi Yangtse, where the forests gradually thin and the altitude decreases, creating a warmer climate perfect for cultivating rice, corn, and wheat. This region is famous for its exquisite handwoven textiles, crafted by skilled weavers who master the traditional supplementary weft-weave technique. Less frequented by travelers, Eastern Bhutan remains one of the most authentic and untouched parts of the country.
