Khaptad National Park, established in 1984 in Nepal’s far west, offers a secluded wilderness experience and features diverse flora, fauna, and religious significance due to Khaptad Baba and a very scenic landscape and non-touristic trek. Only a small percentage of travelers visit Nepal’s wilderness national parks, and the Khaptad National Park Tour provides one of such experiences
Khaptad area is known as the ground-heaven of far west Nepal. Known for its natural beauty and biological diversity.
Khaptad National Park consists of moorland, steep slopes and streams, with 567 floral species. Vegetation types include chir pine–rhododendron forest, oak forest and Himalayan fir–hemlock-oak forest and alder forest in riverine areas.[1] Medicinal plants encompass 224 species
Khaptad National Park harbours 23 mammals including Indian leopard, Himalayan black bear, dhole and Alpine musk deer; 287 bird species include the Impeyan pheasant, peregrine falcon and white-rumped vulture; 23 amphibians and reptiles have also been recorded.
