The Mount Kailash Tour is a sacred pilgrimage for Hindu devotees, offering an incredible journey through the remote desert Himalayas of Tibet. Starting from Kathmandu, this overland expedition leads travelers to the holy Mount Kailash and the serene Lake Manasarovar in western Tibet — regions known for their breathtaking natural beauty, rich Tibetan Buddhist culture, and authentic local life. Situated in the far western corner of the Tibetan Plateau, Mount Kailash and Lake Manasarovar are two of Tibet’s most awe-inspiring spiritual destinations.
Mount Kailash can be reached after four days of continuous driving from Kathmandu across the vast Tibetan plateau, or alternatively, via a week-long Mount Kailash trek from Simikot in western Nepal. Upon arrival, visitors are greeted by the turquoise waters of Lake Manasarovar, often dotted with graceful swans, and the majestic peak of Mount Kailash rising nearby.
